Recorded in 2002, Highway Robbery’s sole recording to date showcases some of the most authentic blues played in the Sarasota area. Bandleader Rob Hawthorne’s impassioned vocals and snappy guitar playing set the pace, with co - guitarist Steve “Sweaty” Hatt laying down his trademark soulful leads, and Steve Schroeder on harmonica. Drums and bass are played by Vinnie Vingelli and Gary Allen Kendall on four tracks, and “Alcatraz Art” Shircliffe and Dave “Koondog” Kouns (original HR members) on four more.
This Special Memorial Edition Of REWARD! is dedicated to the memory of Dave “Koondog” Kouns, who passed away on January 1, 2005. He was a talented musician and an exceptionally compassionate human being, and we will all miss him.
